I’ve been living in Sea Point for nearly 15 years and I’ve really enjoyed it. But apart from a few trusted favourites, I’ve generally dined outside of Sea Point. That is until about a year ago. Suddenly a million new restaurants have popped up in Sea Point. Now there are all sorts of exciting dining options in Sea Point and I thought I would do a post on my favourite breakfast spots.
My top 5 burgers of Cape Town post was very well received last year. Since then every other website has done a post on top burgers in Cape Town so I decided I needed to do something different for 2016. This is a list of 12 undiscovered burgers. One for each month of 2017. Happy eating!
Eat Out Magazine recently announced the top 10 restaurants in the country. The top 10 were selected from 20 nominated restaurants and 17 of the nominees are in Cape Town and the winelands. Which means we have a list of the 17 best restaurants in Cape Town and surrounds for 2017. Each of these will be well worth visiting.
Harbour House Group recently launched Harbour House and La Parada at Constantia Nek, plus they have taken over the Grand Beach and given it a R10m revamp. I went to check out both venues and I’m pleased to report, I liked what I saw. Here’s the low down on why you will want to spend some time at both these venues this summer.
Situated on Hout Street next door to Savoy Cabbage is a new little wine bar and bistro, Bouchon. It’s a collaboration between Dorrance Wines and the owners of La Boheme & Engruna restaurants in Sea Point. It’s been open for 2 weeks and I had a chance to pop in and try it out last night. It’s only open Monday to Friday from 4pm until late.
Choosing a place to eat in Stellenbosch can be challenging, considering the overwhelming number of amazing options. Choosing a restaurant is often about choosing one that is right for the occasion. I’ve been fortunate to eat at many Stellenbosch restaurants and thought I would share with you some places and what they are good for.
The top 10 restaurants in South Africa were announced at the Eat Out Mercedez-Benz Restaurant Awards on Sunday. As usual, most of the restaurants (8) are located in the Western Cape.
I recently published the list of 20 restaurants which have been nominated for the 2015 Eat Out Mercedes-Benz Restaurant Awards. The Eat Out judges will evaluate them and select the best 10. I was curious about what the actual criteria for selecting the winners. I emailed Eat Out to ask them if they could share the criteria with me and they were happy to so I thought I should share it with you!
Charango Bar and Peruvian Grill is the new hot spot on the hottest street in town, Bree. You don’t need to pay a fortune-teller to figure out that this is going to be the place to be in summer. With wide open frontage and plenty of outside seating on the broad pavement, this bar-restaurant will easily entice any and all who wander nearby.
I was invited to experience the new Peddlars. But I didn’t realise it would involve multiple visits, because Peddlars now has 4 distinct food offerings!
