Last year I was fortunate enough to attend the L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate. It was my first experience of the Queen’s Plate and it was fabulous. It was very different from the J&B Met and you can read my full review here. Every year the event gets bigger and better and this year is even more special because it will be the 150th consecutive running of the Queen’s Plate.
The Queen’s Plate may be lot more sophisticated than the Met (there is a dress code), but believe me, that after party rocks. The line up of bands this year looks amazing: Louise Carver, Zebra & Giraffe, Locnville, Gazelle and Crazy White Boy. There is no way the after party is not going to get a little crazy.
This event is really a highlight on Cape Town’s social calendar and you have the chance of winning one of two pairs of tickets as well as a L’Ormarins wine hamper. Total prize value is R750 and all you have to do to put yourself in line to win one of the two prizes is to send me an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) with the subject ‘Queen’s Plate competition’ and in the mail include your telephone number and the answer to this question:
According to the programme of events, what will be happening at 1:30pm?
You can find the answer in the event info section of the Queen’s Plate website http://www.lqp.co.za
The competition will close on Monday the 20th and the winners will be notified the following day. The Queen’s Plate will be happening on the 8th of January 2011.
